Anthony Mayer
President & Founder of Captiva Resources, Inc.
Anthony R. Mayer is President, founder of Captiva Resources, Inc., a Denver based oil & gas exploration and production company with operations in the Rocky Mountain region, Columbia, Texas, and North Dakota. In 1988 Mr. Mayer founded Savant Resources, Inc., an oil exploration, and production company. He currently serves as a member of their Board. Mr. Mayer is the owner of ARTA Tequila, an ultra-premium tequila. Mr. Mayer also serves as president of Captiva Ventures, a family investment office.
He attended high school at St. George’s School in Newport, RI and currently sits on the Board of Trustees. He graduated from Denison University in 1985 where he received his B.A. in Economics.
He is a 5400-hour commercial pilot with a type rating in Citation Jets and helicopters. Tony is married to Delisa Mayer and has 3 children, Alexandra, Justin, Nicholas. He is an avid skier, hunter, scuba diver, horseman, cyclist, and world explorer.
Christi Smith
Chief of Staff to Anthony Mayer
Christi Smith joined Captiva Resources in February 2025 as Chief of Staff to Tony Mayer. Before joining Captiva, she supported Lanny Martin, the founder of Platte River Equity. Christi’s expertise lies in overseeing strategic initiatives, driving organizational performance, supporting executive decision-making, and ensuring efficient office operations. Her coveted professional experience comes from working with executive teams across diverse market segments including private equity, commercial real estate, food and beverage, professional sports, and general contracting.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and organizational development from Regis University. In her free time, Christi enjoys traveling with her husband and two children.
Dane Embury
Chief Operating Officer
Dane is a Finance and Accounting Professional with over 15 years of experience in the O&G Upstream and Midstream industries. Graduate of Harvard’s Business Analytics Program with an MBA from Bellevue University.
Brad Robinson
Controller
Finance and Accounting Professional with over 14 years of experience in Upstream and Midstream O&G. Prior to Captiva Resources, worked at Tallgrass Energy, Crescent Point Energy (currently Veren), and Penn West Energy (currently Obsidian Energy). Graduated with a Bachelors of Business degree (Finance) from Thompson Rivers University and currently working through the Certified Public Accounting designation.
Adelle Cullumber
Senior Accountant
Adelle has a degree in accounting with over 18 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry with heavy emphasis on revenue and GL accounting.
